Based in Swanage on the beautiful Isle of Purbeck in Dorset, Pimento Event Catering specialises in Caribbean inspired fusion food for weddings, events and corporate occasions.
'Pimento' is the Jamaican name for the all spice berry, which is indigenous to the Greater Antilles. It is intrinsic in Caribbean cooking and adds a depth of flavour to savoury and sweet dishes, that just sings.
Pimento Event Catering draws from this Caribbean heritage to maximise flavour in every bite.
Nichola is a first generation British Chef who draws from her Jamaican heritage creating food that is accessible, flavoursome and unifying. "I grew up in a home where we sat as a family around the table for every meal. Hospitality was something I learned from my parents, who didn’t shy away from inviting others to share our table. Sometimes, we didn’t have much, but I would watch as my mum would put her creativity to work to make a feast with what we did have. I learned then that food is a beautiful gift, but food shared with people you love is treasure!".

Our menu has been crafted to include well known Caribbean favourites, reimagined to reflect British, European, Asian and other world culinary influences. We are lovers of flavour, and our menu reflects this. Low spice tolerance? No problem! Intolerances or allergies? No problem. Need Vegan options? No problem. If I could give 15 stars for Nicky’s catering, I would. My husband and I asked Nicky to do the catering for our wedding, and she went above and beyond anything we could have hoped for. Nicky not only delivered an absolutely delicious spread that included what we asked for, but so much more. I loaded my plate as high as I could and regretted nothing. There was an abundance of food - no one left hungry, and my husband and I even took a tray of leftovers on our honeymoon, which fed us for our lunches for the whole week.

I wanted two things from the catering for my wedding: for everyone to be well-fed and remember the day as one where they were looked after and loved, and secondly, for the food to be served with a smile and prepared with joy and love. Nicky delivered on both of these, and 6 months on, I still have guests reminiscing over the delicious food, as their eyes glaze over. Even writing this, my mouth is salivating! My photographer and my uncle both snapped some hilarious photos of me digging into my heap of food. P.S, Nicky, I still want to buy a bottle of Jerk sauce!

We have always been big fans of Nicky’s cooking and we were delighted when she agreed to cater for our wedding. She kept us updated throughout the preparations and although we had a tight budget, Nicky stayed within this and even exceeded our expectations.
On our wedding day we had an amazing time during the reception as she kept everything under control. This meal was definitely one of the best my husband and I have ever had and we watched as many of our guests went back for seconds and thirds.
Thanks to Nicky’s fabulous service, we were able to bond over superb dishes with all our guests and we have very fond memories of that day.
